Access & Inclusion (Give Me BSL) Officer

 

Part-time (21 hours/week)
£24,000 (£14,400 pro-rata)
Based in Glasgow (two years fixed contract)

Funded by the Scottish Government through a CYPFEIF and ALEC Fund Grant, British Deaf Association (BDA) Scotland is seeking to recruit an Access & Inclusion (Give Me BSL) Officer for the Give Me BSL project.

The Access & Inclusion (Give Me BSL) Officer will be responsible for setting up our new early years project – Give Me BSL with new approaches to parenting and family capacity with regard to British Sign Language (BSL). This will allow parents to become more empowered and give their Deaf children aged 0-7 the best start in life. The post involves setting up information, focus groups and training for families – including the “BSL Taster for Wee Ones” activity in the central belt of Scotland.

The successful candidate will have proven organisational skills, experience of advocacy work and knowledge of promoting BSL.
