Business Development Manager – Sign Solutions

Working across a broad range of corporate clients in the private and public sector, as well as with individual Deaf clients, the focus will be on creating new business opportunities and relationships with the Deaf community.


  • To increase market knowledge using sector specific lead generation
  • To engage with the Deaf community to increase awareness of useful services
  • To generate and qualify leads, both self-sourced and from existing sales pipeline
  • To develop new business opportunities and stimulate new markets
  • To understand our complimentary services and be able to confidently make recommendations, and successfully scope out solutions for new and existing clients
  • To provide presentations to new and existing clients
  • To provide effective account management of a growing portfolio of clients


Preferred skills/qualifications/experience

Market development experience within interpretation and translation industry or knowledge of public sector and private sector procurement

  • Fluent in British Sign Language
  • Good business and commercial acumen
  • The ability to produce professional and pertinent proposals
  • The ability to develop and nurture effective business relationships with prospects, clients and in-house colleagues
  • Professional and effective negotiation skills
  • Clear, engaging, and confident presentation skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload whilst meeting deadlines
  • The drive to take responsibility and ownership for workload and performance
  • Proficiency in all relevant IT packages
  • A full driving licence is essential
