Chief Executive – SignHealth
SignHealth is a unique and inspiring organisation, which has worked and campaigned to improve deaf people’s health and wellbeing for nearly 40 years. We provide a range of services, including social care, psychological therapy, domestic abuse support, advocacy and children and young people’s services. We deliver this work by deaf people to deaf people across the UK in British Sign Language (BSL). We believe we are one of the largest disabled people’s organisations in the UK. Our ambition is to be the go-to deaf charity, and the partner of choice for the NHS, public bodies, and health organisations.
Our new Chief Executive will inherit a charity in excellent health, with an inspiring, ambitious vision. We aim to grow our current turnover to £10m and beyond, continue to expand and deepen our impact, and achieve lasting system change; so outstanding strategic leadership skills will be essential. You’ll be a visible, innovative and dynamic leader, able to inspire and influence at all levels within and beyond the organisation. With an uncompromising focus on executing our 2024-2027 strategy and keeping us at the forefront of best practice, you’ll bring a strong learning mindset and a collaborative approach.
Candidates will be highly experienced in leading a talented multi-disciplinary team, and must have a strong personal commitment to eliminating deaf health inequality. With vision, energy and presence, you will bring an impressive track record of leading and growing high-quality regulated services, and increasing opportunities for income generation from diverse sources. It’s vital that you bring direct experience of advocacy for marginalised communities, and an authentic insight into how it feels to be separate to the mainstream. Whether you are deaf or hearing, you are likely to have personal experience of living and working with deaf people, and will embrace our proudly deaf-led and BSL-first culture.
Find out more at http://www.signhealth-ceo.co.uk, where candidate materials are available in BSL as well as written English. If you’re deaf and want to have an informal discussion about the role in BSL, please email signhealth-ceo@cadencepartners.co.uk and we will put you in touch with Joanna Wootten, deaf Associate with Cadence Partners. We positively welcome applications from deaf people who meet the criteria set out in the Person Specification.
