Children’s Residential Support Worker – Deaf Services

Salary: £8.00 – £8.65 – £32 Per Sleep-in

In this role you will:

  • Be working as part of a team delivering high quality care, support and guidance for up to four Deaf young people / service users who have complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. It is likely that these young people / service users will use BSL or other forms of communication as their first language
  • Be working in a very structured and homely environment and a consistent approach is essential in order to maximise positive outcomes
  • As with all residential young person’s care, there are very strict regulations placed upon every provider to ensure that Care Quality Standards are maintained. You will, therefore, be supervised on a regular basis and will follow the organisations policies and procedures

We’re looking for people who have:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Not Essential)
  • Training will also be provided which will enable you to work more effectively with the young people / service users in your care i.e. British Sign Language training
  • Caring, consistent and confident
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Innovative, creative and flexible
  • Able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, self awareness and acceptance of others
  • Able to travel to meet the requirements of the post, hold a current valid manual driving licence and be able to confidently drive a 7-seat car
  • Be 21 or over.
