Communication Support Worker – Huntington School
Part Time 0.4 FTE
Hours: Two days per week – Thursday and Friday
Salary: Grade 7 £23,381 to £25,826 (Pro rata £9,352 to £10,330)
Temporary post to be extended until the student has left the school
We are seeking a Communication Support Worker to provide communication and educational support to a deaf student who joined Huntington School in September 2016.
You will need to:
- have the ability to motivate and encourage the student to develop and achieve in the school environment;
- be responsive to the individual needs of the student and to promote the inclusion of all students in the school;
- have excellent communication skills and be able to support the student using BSL (Level 6) or equivalent, SSE and signed and spoken English as appropriate;
- have ICT capability and the ability to work as a team and on your own initiative; experience of supporting students in an educational or youth setting in English/Literacy or Numeracy would be an advantage.
