We are recruiting for an Information, Advice and Guidance Officer to join our team in Birmingham to provide technologically advanced city-wide Information, Advice and Guidance service to empower our clients who have Hearing Impairment and may have additional disability to reduce social isolation, gain independence and be able to fully participate in their communities.

In this varied role you will be the dedicated point of contact to the service providing:

  • High-quality Information, Advice and Guidance in a range of areas such as wellbeing, employment preparation, digital skills social-personal -life skills development, housing and debt advice as well as working in partnership with other stakeholders to ensure the clients’ needs are met.
  • Managing your own caseload
  • Undertaking contact and risk assessments and undertake re-assessments
  • Monitor and review open cases
  • Supporting the wider organisation by promoting the service via open days, presentations and other events

What do you need to be successful for this role?

You will need to be an empathetic individual who is client focussed, has a good understanding of a range of disabilities and has experience working with sensory impaired people as well as good signing skills to a  Level 2 standard and a good working knowledge of technology and hold a relevant qualification e.g.IAG NVQ Level 2.You will have excellent communication skills, able to undertake risk assessments and contact assessments, be able to use your own initiative as well as work effectively within a team.
