Sensory Team Manager
£53,709 – £58,501 per annum pro rata (pay award pending)
24 hrs/week (0.8 full time equivalent)
We are seeking to appoint a manager for Merton’s highly regarded Sensory Service. Following the retirement of the previous post holder, we are looking for an experienced and motivated teacher of the deaf, with significant leadership experience, to lead the team of teachers for the Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired and Multi-Sensory Impaired. The post holder will also hold a caseload of their own.
The post is part time and provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed teacher and leader to work with children, young people and their families across Merton.
The successful candidate will need to have substantial experience of teaching children with hearing impairment, an excellent understanding of the issues affecting children with sensory impairment when accessing educational provision, and a strong strategic awareness of government policy and initiative relating to children with sensory impairment. The candidate must also have proven advanced leadership and collaboration skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
