The 11th edition of the IberoDocs Documentary Film Festival brings a selection of accessible screenings to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee this September.
Across three venues, audiences can enjoy six captioned screenings, all with HOH captions and BSL-interpreted Q&As or discussions.
Highlights include:
- To Our Friends (Scottish Premiere) – a moving coming-of-age story set in Madrid, exploring friendship, resilience and love.
- Neirud (Scottish Premiere) – a posthumous exploration of the extraordinary life of a pioneering lesbian wrestler in the Brazilian circus.
- The Sea – a new environmental strand, presenting four short films by women filmmakers reflecting on our relationship with the ocean and coastal life.
Special guests including Adrián Orr, Fernanda Faya, Neus Ballús and María Goya Barquet will join selected screenings for BSL-interpreted Q&As. The Dundee screening of The Sea will conclude with a panel discussion in BSL with environmental expert Dr Rebecca Wade.
