Meet Jonny: teacher, father and football fan. He’s an artist, a campaigner, and he’s deaf.
Jonny grew up in a hearing family, surrounded by fear of the stigma of disability.
Louder Is Not Always Clearer tells Jonny’s moving, funny story of disconnection, difference and desperation to belong. This one-man show is a starkly honest portrayal of a man seemingly confident, outgoing and popular, who is inwardly vulnerable and, at times, isolated.
In a hearing world Jonny is different.
Please note: This show uses captioning, some BSL and spoken English. The spoken sections are subtitled or a video of signing accompanies these sections. It’s accessible to hearing and non-hearing audiences but is not BSL interpreted throughout.
Accessibility: This show will be BSL interpreted: BSL Interpreter – Katie Fenwick | BSL Consultant – Deepa Shastri
