England Deaf Rugby’s first ever opportunity to play in a three-Test Series against New Zealand Deaf Rugby has been confirmed for November 2017.

The home side, England Deaf will be playing the games in South-East London, which is home to a few of the oldest rugby union clubs in the country.

England Deaf Rugby Chairman, Tony Stoyles said:

“I am pleased to say, the following grassroots rugby clubs have been chosen to host the three-Test Series, namely, Barking, Harlow and Blackheath.

“We are extremely grateful for these clubs to put themselves forward in support of Deaf Rugby, it clearly demonstrates the clubs really do care and do wish to support disabilities in sport, and that Deaf Rugby in particular, has a place in the local communities.

“The series will give us a really good indicator of where we are as a squad, as next April 2018 England Deaf Rugby travel to Sydney for the Inaugural World Deaf Rugby 7s and gives us a real focus on what we have to do over the few months to be ready for that tournament and win!

“More importantly, this series brings together Deaf players and volunteers from the southern hemisphere and northern hemisphere in a lifetime opportunity to make new friends and build on the already popular sport of Deaf Rugby, it doesn’t get any better than this.”
