BSL Corpus 10 year celebration event

Date: 3rd November 2018
Time: 12:00 am - 12:00 am
Location: University College London, WC1E, London
November

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the BSL Corpus Project we are holding a celebration event on Saturday 3 November 2018.

Are you a member of the British Deaf community? Are you a Deaf or hearing BSL signer? Do you teach BSL? Are you a BSL interpreter or otherwise interested in BSL? Please join us to celebrate! And, learn more about the BSL Corpus and BSL SignBank.

Half of the day will be about research findings – i.e. what we’ve learned over the years so far from doing research using the BSL Corpus and also the related dictionary we created based on signs from the corpus – i.e. BSL SignBank. The other half of the day will showcase people who have been using the BSL Corpus and/or BSL SignBank for reasons other than research, especially for BSL teaching and/or interpreter training.

Please note: The event will be delivered primarily in British Sign Language (BSL). BSL/English interpretation will be provided, as well as live captions.

When: 3 November 2018, 9:30am-5:30pm

Where: University College London, WC1E, London (register via Eventbrite for specific building and room)

If you are not able to come – do not worry!  The event will be live-streamed.

The event is free, but you must register to attend (deadline: 24 October 2018). Places are limited so register now!

More information (including the link for live captioning) will be available on this page as plans progress.
