Housing Support Worker – SignHealth

Contract Type: 12 Month Contract
Location: Manchester
Salary:  £9.07 Per hour
Hours: 19.25 Hours Per Week, you will be expected to work a variety of different shifts which will also include, day, evening and sleep in shifts and weekends.

As well as this you will be expected to work some bank holidays.

Do you have the ability to communicate in British Sign Language?

Do you have knowledge of the deaf community and mental health issues?

Do you have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or the care certificate?

Here at SignHealth we are currently recruiting for a Permanent Support Worker to join us in taking on the exciting challenge of providing high quality health and social care support to Deaf individuals, many of whom who have mental health conditions.

We are looking for an independent, dynamic, compassionate and hardworking individual who is able to support individual residents who are living in the home to help them become as independent as possible.

As a Support Worker you will undertake a range of tasks which include working closely with our residents developing supportive relationships, supporting residents in independent skills, emotional support, developing personalised plans and ensuring a professional service is maintained.

Due to the nature of this position you will need to have a minimum of level 2 British Sign Language, understand the importance of sensitive data and storing data in line with GDPR regulations, care regulations and the CQC.

If you have knowledge of safeguarding, working with young people, adults at risk or adults in crisis under your belt this would be helpful too– but not essential.
