Interim Head of Commissioning – BSLBT

Full time.  Twelve-month fixed-term contract, starting autumn 2022.
Based at BSLBT office near Old St, London N1, with some home working.
Salary according to skills and experience.

This job description is available in BSL here

British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust is a young, successful charity with an ambitious agenda. Funded by commercial broadcasters, we commission television programmes made in British Sign Language and we support the companies and Deaf programme-makers who produce them.

Over the next year, BSLBT is going to see some big changes.  We have new trustees and a new Chair joining, our Chief Executive is stepping down, and our Head of Commissioning is moving on to new things.

While this transition takes place, the Board wishes to recruit an interim Head of Commissioning to complete the implementation of the strategic plan, to manage the team and to give input to the future of the commissioning function.  S/he will also be part of BSLBT’s Senior Management Team.  An interest in, or life experience of, Deaf culture and language is also important.

As we are aware that eligible candidates may not have senior managerial experience; we can provide mentoring and training to the successful candidate.

To apply, please send a relevant CV plus a letter (no more than two A4 pages) explaining how you are suitable for this role to recruitment@bslbt.co.uk by 1200 on Thursday 18th August.  Interviews will be held remotely by Zoom or face-to-face in London in late August/early September.

BSLBT particularly welcomes applicants from people of Black, Asian and minority ethnic heritage
