Highworth Combined School and Nursery would like to appoint a Teacher of the Deaf (or someone committed to becoming one) to work in our Additionally Resourced Provision unit for 12 Deaf children alongside our existing and highly experienced TOD.

We are on a mission to find innovative, evidenced based ways to improve our pupils’ life chances by raising outcomes whilst protecting our teachers from excessive work load. Can you help us?

If you have a track record of great practice, embrace change (but only where there is proven impact) and can form strong, successful relationships with children and adults alike, come and join us!

Start date for this role is flexible according to your existing commitments.

Qualified Teachers of the Deaf or those with such aspirations are invited to apply. Any successful applicant who is not a qualified Teacher of the Deaf would be expected to gain the mandatory qualification, funded by the school. Knowledge of British Sign Language or a commitment to work towards minimum BSL level 3 is essential.

Highworth Combined School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be requested for the successful candidate

How to apply

All applicants to complete and return a Buckinghamshire Council application form. For more information please contact Mrs Maria Smith on 01494 525534 or email office@highworthcombined.co.uk
