Obituary: Goronwy Williams

Goronwy Williams aged 87 passed away on 6th January 2018.

A former pupil of The Royal School for the Deaf in Manchester, Goronwy was known as school number 120. Goronwy learned the trade of shoemaking at Talbot House in Manchester. He worked as a shoe repairer for many years and owned his own shop. Latterly he worked at the Gas Board in Wrexham.

From 1986 until 2000, Goronwy worked as a sign language tutor, teaching at Wrexham and Shropshire colleges and schools.

Goronwy was a keen beekeeper and gardener.  In his younger days he was a member of Chester Deaf Football team and attended Mold, Wrexham and Chester Deaf clubs.

Goronwy will be sadly missed by his wife, Rita.
